Broncos Host Oregon and Sac State

  • Oregon (0-2) vs Sacramento State (3-6) | at 1 p.m. (MT)
  • Sacramento State (3-6) at Boise State (3-1) | at 3 p.m. (MT)
  • Oregon (0-2) at Boise State (3-1) | at 5 p.m. (MT)
  • NOTE: There is no break between matches ... for example the 3 p.m. contest will start as soon as courts open up following the 1 p.m. match.
  • Parking is FREE and will be in the Lincoln Parking Garage. 
  • Patrons will need to print off a ticket from one of the kiosks located throughout the lot and place on your dash.
  • Please remember your parking space number since it will have to be entered at the kiosk.
  • You will be able to select parking for the beach volleyball matches at the kiosk and there will be no cost.
  • Admission to all Boise State beach volleyball matches is free.

  • The Broncos have been off for the last two weeks and bring their 3-1 record into this week’s home contests against the Oregon Ducks (0-2) and Sacramento State Hornets (3-6). 

  • All matches will take place at the Boise State Sand Volleyball Complex on the corner of Belmont Street and Oakland Avenue with free parking available at the Lincoln Parking Garage via the kiosks. 

  • Times have been changed for Friday and have been moved one hour later than originally scheduled with the first match between Oregon and Sacramento State starting at 1 p.m. (Mountain).

  • This Friday will be the second time that the Broncos and Hornets have met this year.


  • Boise State is in its fourth season of beach volleyball and competes as an independent in the sport.

  • The Broncos have played four matches this season recording a 3-2 victory at Pacific (April 10), followed by a 2-1 mark at the Sacramento State Tournament (April 11-12) with wins over San Francisco and Sacramento State by 5-0 scores and a tough 3-2 loss to San Jose State.


  • No. 1 Pair: Boise State is led by Maddy O’Donnell and Maddi Osburn who have gone 3-1 at the top position.

  • No. 2 Pair: Playing at the second position are Sierra Nobley and Sabryn Roberts who are one of three pairs to have 3-1 marks entering the weekend.

  • No. 3 Pair: Emily Sullivan and Janell Walley moved into the third pair position after the season opener where they are 3-0 ... they are the only team who is undefeated at 4-0 overall.

  • No. 4 Pair: At the fourth position the Broncos play the duo of Jaymee-Lee Bulda and Laney Hayes who are 3-1 this season.

  • No. 5 Pair: The freshmen tandem of Jensen Allen and Cassedi Simon have competed in all four matches to date at No. 5 pair going 2-2 overall.

  • Exhibition: The pair of Kenna Hanses and Skye Southwick have competed as an exhibition team in two matches so far going 0-2.


  • Like Boise State, Oregon has taken the last couple weeks off and enters this Friday’s competition at 0-2 overall with a pair of 3-2 losses to the Portland Pilots.

  • Playing at No. 1 pair for the Ducks has been the tandem of Taylor Agost and Brooke Van Sickle who are 1-1 overall.

  • At No. 2 pair has been the sophomore team of Lindsey Vander Weide and Laurent Page who are also 1-1 on the year.


  • Since opening the season 3-0 Sacramento State has dropped six straight starting with the defeat to the Broncos on March 12.

  • Sac State was at Huntington Beach, Calif., last weekend where the Hornets went 0-4 including losses to No. 6 Long Beach State (5-0) and No. 5 Hawaii (5-0).

  • Playing at No. 1 pair for Sacramento State is the duo of Madeline Cannon and Morgan Stanley who are 4-4 on the year.

  • The second pair for the Hornets has seen several different tandems with the most successful duo being Shannon Boyle and Lexie Skalbeck who are 3-1 at the position.


  • Boise State returns seven letterwinners from the 2016 squad that went 5-6 overall.

  • There are a lot of unknowns on this squad as no pairs from last year’s top three are back in tack. 

  • The Broncos return senior Maddy O’Donnell who played on the No. 1 pair last season where she went 3-8 with Hannah Hubbard who is no longer with the program. 

  • Boise State also returns junior Sierra Nobley who was a part of the second pair with the now graduated Sarah Baugh. They went 6-5 as a doubles team. 

  • Maddi Osburn is also back after being half of last year’s No. 3 doubles pair for the Broncos recording a 8-3 overall mark.

  • Sabryn Roberts went 3-5 at No. 4 pair last spring.

  • The No. 5 pair that went 8-3 as well is back featuring Laney Hayes and Jaymee-Lee Bulda



  • Boise State will play a total of 12 matches this season. 

  • It includes six matches versus four Pacific-12 Conference schools in Cal (1), Oregon (2), Stanford (1) and Washington (2). 

  • It also features a home tournament with Oregon and Sacramento State on Friday, April 7.
