HONOLULU, Hawaii - Sarah Baugh and Sierra Nobley won at No. 2 pair to lead Boise State in a 4-1 defeat at fifth-ranked Hawai'i Tuesday night in Honolulu. Two of the five matches went three sets but the Broncos could not break through anywhere else in the line up. The loss drops Boise State to 4-4 overall with an exhibition match on the slate for Wednesday against Hawaii Pacific at the University of Hawai'i's Ching Complex.

"I thought Sarah Baugh and Sierra Nobley were awesome," coach Shawn Garus said. "They had a huge comeback in set one and played very consistent down the stretch to win it in the third set. It was the best serving match I've seen from Sierra."

Boise State collected its lone win of the day at No. 2 pair where Baugh and Nobley rallied to win in three sets 21-19, 7-21, 15-12 over Hawai'i's Nikki Taylor and Lara Schreiber. The Bronco tandem improved to 5-3 overall with the victory.

"Kaitlyn (Oliver) and Maddi (Osburn) came out really strong but couldn't hold on for the win," said Garus. "I was happy with Emily (Sullivan) and Katie (Hall) who forced a third set in an exhibition but lost close. Overall, it was a great experience for our team to battle one of the best in country on their home courts. I am very proud of how our team represented today."

Oliver and Osburn took their opponents to three sets as well before bowing out at No. 3 pair. They battled throughout the match rallying from one set down to force a decisive third, eventually falling to Kaiwi Schucht and Hannah Zalopany 22-20, 18-21, 15-10. It is only the second loss of the season for Oliver and Osburn who go to 6-2 overall with the defeat.

Hawai'i won the other three matches in two sets at No. 1, 4 and 5 pairs to claim the team victory on Senior Day in Honolulu.
