March 30, 2018

SEATTLE, Wash. - Boise State’s beach volleyball team closed the week with a 5-0 loss to Washington on Friday afternoon in Seattle. The teams of Janell Walley and Sabryn Roberts, as well as Kenna Hanses and Skye Southwick led the Broncos taking their matches to three sets each before falling. The loss drops Boise State to 1-6 overall on the year.

For the second time in two days, Boise State’s Hanses and Southwick opened the match for Boise State by taking their Washington opponents to three sets but could not get over the hump at No. 5 pair as they fell 21-14, 19-21, 15-10 to the Huskies’ Kara Bajema and Emma Calle on Friday.

Like Southwick and Hanses, Walley and Roberts went to three sets on Friday against Washington’s top duo of Jordan Anderson and Kimmy Gardiner. The Bronco duo rallied after dropping the first set to take the second forcing the match into a decisive third. Unfortunately, Walley and Roberts came up on the short side of the score in the third set falling 21-18, 22-24, 15-9.

Boise State will be back in action April 11th when the Broncos face Sacramento State and Foothills College in Folsom, Calif.
