FOLSOM, Calif. - The Boise State beach volleyball continued its opening weekend with a split Saturday afternoon falling 3-2 to San Jose State, then regrouped to sweep San Francisco 5-0 at the Sacramento State Tournament in Folsom, Calif. Boise State was led the No. 2 pair of Janell Walley and Emily Sullivan, as well as the No. 3 tandem of Sierra Nobley and Sabryn Roberts as both teams swept their matches.

“I was really pleased with the way the entire team competed today,” said head coach Shawn Garus. “We nearly took two today but came up just short against San Jose State. I thought Janell (Walley) and Emily (Sullivan) played well after I moved them up one spot in the lineup, they won both contests. Sierra Nobley and Sabryn (Roberts) also played well winning both of their matches. Overall it was a good day for the Broncos.”

The split moved the Broncos to 2-1 overall with one more match remaining this weekend in Folsom against tournament host Sacramento State Sunday morning at 11 a.m. (MT).
