Bronco Softball Announces Schedule
Erin Thorpe enters her sixth season at the helm of Bronco softball

BOISE, Idaho -

Boise State softball will host two tournaments and four Mountain West series as part of its 2014 schedule, head coach Erin Thorpe announced Wednesday. The Broncos will open the season with trips to four early-season tournaments.

Boise State’s sixth season of softball begins with the Kajikawa Classic Feb. 6-9, in Tempe, Ariz. The next weekend takes the Broncos to Las Vegas for the Easton Desert Classic (Feb. 13-16). For the third time in program history, Boise State will spend the third week of February in Cathedral City, Calif., for the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic (Feb. 20-23). February ends and March will begin with the Broncos at Saint Mary’s in Moraga, Calif. (Feb. 28-March 2).

The Broncos will open their home schedule the next two weekends as Dona Larsen Park plays host to a pair of tournaments. SpringHill Suites Invitational I (March 7-9) brings Indiana, Valparaiso and Weber State to the Treasure Valley. During the SpringHill Suites Invitational II (March 14-16) Boise State will play host to Lafayette, Idaho State and Southern Utah.

The Mountain West slate opens March 21-23, with Boise State hosting Fresno State. The Broncos will also welcome MW foes UNLV (April 4-6), San Jose State (April 17-19) and New Mexico (May 2-4) for games at Dona Larsen Park.

The conference road trips for Boise State will be at Colorado State (March 28-30), Nevada (April 11-13), Utah State (April 22-23) and San Diego State (May 8-10). The games at Utah State are a midweek trip, including a Tuesday doubleheader and one game on Wednesday.

Boise State will also play its final nonconference game April 29, at Idaho State.

Further information regarding Boise State’s opponents at the early-season tournaments will be made available when it is finalized.

At the Kajikawa Classic, the Broncos are expected to face Utah, Creighton, North Carolina State, Northwestern and Oregon. The Mary Nutter Classic schedule initially includes games against Oregon State, Oklahoma, Pacific, Cal State Fullerton and Nebraska.
