Bronco Softball Adds Three for 2014

BOISE, Idaho-Boise State softball signed three high school seniors to National Letters of Intent during this month's early signing period, head coach Erin Thorpe announced. Libbie Jimenez, Mackenzie McGill and Isabel Serrano all signed to join the Broncos for the 2014 season.

Jimenez (Walla Walla, Wash.) is a shortstop at Walla Walla High School. She has led the Blue Devils to a top-three finish at the WIAA 4A State Tournament each of the past three seasons, including a state title as a sophomore in 2011.

McGill (Long Beach, Calif.) pitches for Millikan High School. She went 8-3 in the circle in 2012, leading the Rams to a quarterfinal appearance in the state tournament.

Serrano (Garden Grove, Calif.) is a two-year starter in center field at Rosary High School. She garnered All-Orange County accolades in 2011 and 2012, and will be a team captain for the Royals as a senior.

The 2013 Boise State softball campaign will mark the fifth season in program history. Thorpe has overseen the Bronco program since its inception, leading her teams to a combined record of 118-102. Boise State finished tied for second in the Mountain West in 2012, its first year in the conference.
