NAMPA, Idaho – The Boise State softball team successfully wrapped up its fall season today with a pair of wins over College of Idaho and Northwest Nazarene. The Broncos took the game 10-1 over the Yotes and 11-1 over the Crusaders. The Broncos will next take field for their season opener in February.

“We were able to learn a lot as a team in the six games we were able to play this fall,” said head coach Erin Thorpe. “We definitely saw a lot of good things from both our returners and our freshmen as well as a few things we need to work on. These fall games gave our newcomers some valuable game experience that will prepare them to jump right into the mix of things when the season starts in a few months.”

Freshmen Holly Bourke, Vanessa Alvarez and Megan Harvey came up big for the Broncos today with RBI-hits in both games of the doubleheader. The real story was the Bronco pitching that all but shut down the opposing offenses. Aubray Zell tossed five innings while recording six strikeouts and allowing only one hit. Freshmen Lela Work and Ashley Collier also dominated in the circle with each allowing only one run to cross the plate.

The Broncos are still constructing their spring schedule which is expected to be completed some time this month.
