Softball Announces 2009 Fall Schedule

BOISE, Idaho – In preparation of its second year of competition, the Boise State softball team announced its 2009 fall schedule. The schedule includes two games in Mountain Cove as well as a trip to Washington to take on the defending national champions.

The Broncos will head up to Selah, Wash. to take on the defending national champion Huskies on Sept. 26 in a doubleheader. The first game will begin at 11 a.m. (PT). The road trip will continue as the Broncos head back east into Idaho to take on Northern Idaho in Coeur D’Alene at 10 a.m. on Sept. 27.

The Broncos’ home fall schedule includes a doubleheader against in-state rivals, Idaho State and the Blue and Gray intersquad scrimmage. The Broncos will kick off their fall season with the Blue/Gray scrimmage on Sept. 23 at 3 p.m. The scrimmage will be open and free to the public. The doubleheader against the Bengals is also free to the public and will take place at 1 p.m. on Oct. 4.

The fall schedule wraps up with a pair of games against College of Idaho and Northwest Nazarene on Oct. 10. Both games will be played on NNU’s campus beginning at noon.

The Broncos went 22-30 in their inaugural 2009 season and finished seventh in the regular season WAC standings. Notable wins include a 5-3 victory over Long Beach State, a series sweep over Utah State in the Broncos first-ever WAC series and a 8-4 extra-innings win over San Jose State in their first-ever WAC Tournament game.
