July 31, 2015

BOISE, Idaho – Boise State softball head coach Cindy Ball announced the addition of transfer Kaitlyn Shreves (Quartz Hill, Calif. / College of the Canyons/San José State/Quartz Hill HS) to the Bronco program Friday. Shreves has signed a Financial Aid Contract with Boise State and will begin classes in August and be eligible for the 2016 season.

Shreves, utility player that bats and throws left and who will be a redshirt junior in 2015-16, spent the past two seasons at College of the Canyons in Santa Clarita, Calif. after transferring from San José State, where she was a member of the Spartans in 2013. At College of the Canyons, Shreves is a two-time All-Western States Conference selection, being named to the first team in 2015 after earning honorable mention in 2014.

Last season she batted .418 with a pair of home runs, 31 RBI and 31 runs scored over 37 games as College of the Canyons went 28-12-1 and finished second in the WSC’s Blue Division. In 2014 Shreves earned honorable mention for batting .370 with 24 RBI and 25 runs scored.

Shreves was a member of San José State’s softball team in 2013 but did not see action.

As a prep, Shreves played four years at Quartz Hill High School where she was named to the All-Golden League as a senior. That season she led Quartz Hill with 29 hits while batting .433 with 21 RBI and 20 runs scored.
