Boise State to Hold Softball Tryouts

Tryout Form

BOISE, Idaho - Boise State softball will hold an open tryout Aug. 30 from 3-5 p.m., head coach Erin Thorpe announced.  The tryouts will be hosted at the Boise State Softball Field at Dona Larsen Park (150 South Broadway, Boise, ID 83712).

All tryout participants must RSVP and will need to bring the form linked at the top of this page as well as copy of their insurance card and a proof of a physical exam in the last six months. The physical exam must also include sickle cell testing. Those interested in trying out must be present for the entirety of the tryout to be considered for the team.

The tryout is only for enrolled Boise State students with remaining NCAA eligibility and will consist of offensive, defensive and base running drills (sliding). Students are required to provide all of the necessary gear involved with the tryout.

Any student-athlete who is asked to continue on will be offered a two-week tryout extension.  After that time, if you are asked to remain with the team, you will be asked to purchase SHIP insurance (every Boise State student-athlete must purchase this insurance) before joining the team. The insurance will cost approximately $2120 for the year.

Any questions about NCAA eligibility, time commitment or the tryout may be directed to assistant coach Shelly Prochaska at (208) 426-4899 or at softball@boisestate.edu. All interested students need to RSVP to Prochaska by Friday, Aug. 24.
