DENVER - For the second consecutive week, a Boise State softball player has been named the Verizon Wireless WAC Hitter of the Week. Holly Bourke became the third Bronco to earn the weekly WAC honor in 2010 and the fourth in Bronco history. For Bourke, it is her first career honor.
Bourke, a freshman outfielder from Woodland, Calif., hit .800 on the week, going 8-for-10 with three doubles, and three RBI last week. She recorded at least two hits in all three games and went a perfect 3-for-3 in the final two games and also stole two bases. During the week, Bourke ran her hitting streak to six games, which is tied for Boise State's third longest of the year. During the hitting streak, Bourke is hitting .737.
Bourke and the Broncos head into the WAC Tournament with the No. 3 seed on Wednesday. They will face the host New Mexico State in the opening round at 7 p.m.
