Hendrickson Earns CoSIDA Academic Honor

    BOISE, Idaho – Boise State designated player Corey Hendrickson was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District 7 Softball Team, CoSIDA announced Thursday.

    Hendrickson, a junior, is the first Boise State softball student-athlete in the program’s eight-year history to earn this honor. To be eligible for nomination, a student-athlete must own a cumulative grade-point average of 3.3, be in at least their second year at their current institution, and be a starter or significant contributor who has played in at least 50 percent of their team’s games.

    Hendrickson has become one of the offensive mainstays for the Broncos in 2016, her second season in Boise since transferring from Florida State, leading the team in walks (16), ranking second in on-base percentage (.422), third on the team in home runs (five) and RBI (24), fourth in slugging percentage (.542) and fifth in batting (.302) and doubles (six).

    In the classroom, the Arvada, Colo. native boasts a cumulative GPA of 3.68 while working towards her degree in general business.

    The selections to the eight softball all-district teams now advance to the national ballot, which is scheduled to be announced May 26.
