Broncos Split One-Run Games
Boise State softball split a pair of one-run games Sunday, on the final day of the SpringHill Suites Invitational II. The Broncos (15-12) lost 2-1 against Southern Utah before bouncing back to beat Idaho State 1-0.

Boise State and Idaho State (30-16, 11-3 Big Sky) met twice already this season when the Bengals visited Boise for the SpringHill Suites Invitational II. The Broncos won 4-1 (March 15) in the first meeting and 1-0 (March 16) behind a shutout from Rebecca Patton in the second.

Patton's gem, a two-hitter, was the first time Idaho State had been shutout all season and it has only happened once since as the Bengal offense is averaging seven runs per game. The last time Idaho State was blanked- 5-0 against Weber State- it responded by outscoring the Wildcats 31-9 over the final two games of the series. The Bengals have been shutout just five times in their last 102 games, two coming at the hands of the Broncos (March 15, 2013).

Boise State will return home this weekend for the final home series of the season. The Broncos host New Mexico May 2-4, at Dona Larsen Park in their penultimate MW series. Senior Day will take place Sunday, with special on-field recognition taking place following the game.

About the Bengals
Idaho State is led by its potent offense, with a team batting average of .344 and scoring seven runs per game. Kacie Burnett paces the team with a .469 batting average, 76 base hits and 57 runs scored. Still, it is the middle of the order that is Idaho State's calling card. Vicky Galasso is hitting .388 with 17 home runs and 58 RBI. Galasso has also scored 55 times because she is protected in the lineup by Terah Blackwell who leads the country in RBI per game, driving in 69 runs. Blackwell has 16 home runs.  Burnett has also stolen 26 bases on the year, pacing a team that is 65-for-71 on the bases. Haley Douglas is the top pitcher for the Bengals with a 16-10 record in 35 appearances (28 starts). Douglas has a 5.01 ERA and three shutouts.
All-Time Series: Boise State leads 11-4

Road Success
Boise State completed a sweep of Utah State in Logan, Utah, the last time out, its second sweep in as many road trips. The Broncos took all three games at Nevada April 11-13, for its first road sweep since 2011. The three wins at Utah State marked just the fourth road sweep in program history. Boise State is the first Mountain West team to win at least six conference road games since 2009, when BYU finished 8-1 and San Diego State was 6-1 away from home in MW play.

#RecordWatch
Glover in Hit Pursuit
Tara Glover is one hit shy of matching the all-time Mountain West record. Glover's 264 hits trail only Angeline Quiocho's 265 in conference history. Glover had 55 hits as a freshman at Utah, while the Utes were still MW members. Since joining Boise State, the speedy center fielder has become the first Bronco to record 200 hits. She has 209 as a Bronco. In addition to the school hits record, Glover already owns Boise State career records for steals (75), runs (129) and triples (seven). She is on pace to finish with the highest batting average in school history as well, currently sitting at .394.

Broncos Off and Running
Boise State already broke the Mountain West record for stolen bases in a season. The Broncos have swiped 93 bags on the year, bettering the previous conference mark of 87 and former school record of 77. Jordan Kreiger's steal of second in the second game of Boise State's series with Utah State was the team's 88th stolen base of the season, breaking the record.

Bronco Ace Deals 21
Rebecca Patton has won a school-record 21 games in the circle this season. Patton is 21-11 on the year, surpassing the former mark of 20 wins (Aubray Zell, 2012). Patton has also broken Zell's record for innings pitched and complete games in a season. She has tossed 204 innings, including 21 complete games.

Walk This Way
Boise State drew 17 walks against Utah State April 23, on its way to a 10-1 run-rule victory in five innings during the series finale. The 17 bases on balls set Mountain West and Boise State single-game records. It is tied for the ninth-most walks drawn in a game in NCAA history.

Double Trouble
Jordan Kreiger and Ashley Palmer are tied for the team lead with 13 doubles this season. Kreiger and Palmer are also tied for second on the school's single-season list with that total. Tara Glover set the standard with 14 doubles in 2012. Kreiger, a junior, is tied for fourth on the career list with 22 doubles. Palmer, a sophomore, has 16 in her career to tie for eighth. Holly Bourke owns the all-time record with 30, but Glover is just behind at 29.

Return of the Mack
Boise State expects to have senior Mackenzie Whyte back in the lineup this week. Whyte has been out of action since injuring her knee at Colorado State, and has missed the last 12 games. She has started 176 games at shortstop during her career and was in the midst of a career year at the plate at the time of her injury. Whyte leads the team with a .376 batting average, has scored 27 runs, driven in 21 and stolen 18 bases in 33 games.
