BOISE, Idaho The Boise State softball team will host Fresno State tomorrow at 3 p.m. and Saturday at 1 p.m. for its final home games of the season. The three game series has postseason implications for both teams as only six games remain in the WAC season.

The Broncos (21-22, 4-10) hold a narrow edge over Utah State for the final seed in the WAC postseason tournament. The Broncos are 4-10 in the WAC with Aggies nipping on their heels at 3-12. Earlier in the season, the Broncos swept the Aggies in a three-game series to own the tiebreak should a tie occur.

The Bulldogs (28-18, 10-5) are in a tie for second place with Hawai’i with two weeks remaining and only half a game behind Nevada at 10-4. The Bulldogs took two of three from the Wolf Pack last season to own the tiebreaker.

This weekend will close out the Broncos inaugural season in Boise as they had to Honolulu, Hawaii to face Hawai’i next weekend for the final regular season series. The Broncos are 7-6 in Mountain Cove this year, and are looking to snap a seven-game WAC losing streak and six-game skid at home.

ABOUT FRESNO STATE:  The Bulldogs will be on a mission when they come into Boise as they are only half a game behind Nevada for the top spot in the WAC. With only six games left in the regular season, every one will be important in claiming the regular season crown. The Dogs are led by All-American Morgan Melloh in the circle with a 22-14 record and team-low 1.39 ERA. Melloh has continued her dominance from her freshman campaign with 13 shutouts and 364 Ks on the year. Mackenzie Oakes has picked up 69.2 innings of work and sports an impressive 2.01 ERA and .226 batting average against. Only Haley Perkins is hitting above .300 with a .314 average. The Bulldogs also have only 20 homers on the year, but have 25 stolen bases in 28 attempts. Caitlin Stiglich leads the team with 29 RBI and Michelle Moses supplies the majority of the power with a team-high seven homers.
