FRESNO, Calif. - The Boise State softball team lost their first WAC game of the year 5-0 to the host Fresno State on Friday night. The Broncos (13-20, 3-1) were shutout for just the fourth time this year and for the second consecutive time against the Bulldogs (24-12, 3-1). All five Bulldog runs were scored in the first two innings.

The Broncos scattered just three hits in the game and drew four walks but never managed to advance past second base. Bulldog pitcher Michelle Moses also tied a career-high with 12 strikeouts to shut down the Broncos. Moses also blasted a three-run homer in the first to give the Bulldogs a 3-0 lead.

Lela Work kept pace with Moses over the final five innings as she allowed just three hits and no runs while striking out four batters. Work retired the first 10 batters she faced in order before allowing a single with one out in the fifth.

The Broncos and Bulldogs will conclude their three-game, WAC series tomorrow with a doubleheader at Bulldog Diamond, starting at 2 p.m. (MT).
