BOISE, Idaho - The Boise State softball will finish up its eight-game trip through the state of Utah with a doubleheader on Monday at Utah Valley and a single game on Tuesday at BYU. So, far the Broncos (16-9) are 4-1 on the trip with a 2.47 team ERA and are outscoring their opponents 28-15.

Monday’s game will be a rematch of the doubleheader that the Broncos swept in Boise last Saturday. The first game was a dogfight between the Broncos and Wolverines with the Broncos edging out the win in eight innings. The second game was dominated by freshman pitcher Allie Crump, who threw a one-hit shutout as the Broncos ran away with the victory.

When the Broncos head to Provo, Utah, they will meet BYU for the first time. The Cougars are 19-14 on the season. In the circle, the Cougars sport a 1.71 team ERA and have allowed only 84 runs to cross the plate in 33 games. Paige Affleck and Christie Zinanti have done all the pitching this year and both sport ERAs of less than 2.00. The Cougars also have six players with averages over .300, led by Andrea Ramirez at .388. Jessica Purchell has been a power factory with eight homers, 39 RBI, 12 doubles and a slugging percentage of .802.

The Broncos are riding a four game win streak, including a three-game series sweep over Utah State. In its inaugural season, the Broncos took their first three WAC games over the Aggies for a perfect 3-0 entry into the conference. Only Fresno State and Nevada opened conference play this year with a series sweep. The Broncos will continue WAC play on Friday when they host the 2008 WAC Tournament champions, Louisiana Tech.
