BOISE, Idaho - Boise State (11-2), currently on a 10-game winning streak, hosts the Springhill Suites Invitational at Dona Larsen Park this weekend. The Broncos will play five games, beginning Friday at 3:30 p.m. against Cal State Northridge, followed by games against the Matadors and Santa Clara Saturday, and against Weber State and Santa Clara Sunday.

    About The Opposition
Boise State will face off against three teams at this weekend's Springhill Suites Invitational, hosting Cal State Northridge, Santa Clara and Weber State. The Broncos take on Cal State Northridge twice (Friday at 3:30 p.m., Saturday at 1 p.m.), Santa Clara twice (Saturday at 3 p.m., Sunday at 1 p.m.) and Weber State once (Sunday at 11 a.m.).

Cal State Northridge (6-8) is coming off of a weekend in which it went 4-1 at the Libby Matson Classic in Stockton, Calif., beating Seattle University twice along with wins over Sacramento State and host Pacific. The Matadors are led by Taylor Glover (.326, two HR, eight RBIs) while in the circle Daphne Pofek is 3-2 with a 2.20 ERA.

Weber State (5-8-1) went 4-1 at the Santa Clara Invitational last weekend, beating the host Broncos twice and earning wins over UIC and South Dakota. The Wildcats boast three players batting over .400: Landi Hawker (.452), Takesha Saltern (.429) and Molly Horne (.409). Boise State and Weber State have met once already this season, with the Broncos capturing a 7-1 victory in Las Vegas on Feb. 17.

Santa Clara (3-8) went 1-4 at its own tournament last weekend, picking up its lone win over UIC. For the Broncos, Ellie Fisher batted .333 (5-for-15) last weekend while Aubree Kim picked up the win over UIC.

    Last Time Out
Boise State went 6-0 at the Willie Jewell's Invitational in Charleston, S.C., last weekend. The Broncos thrice beat host Charleston Southern in addition to picking up wins over Presbyterian (11-0 in five innings), Maryland Eastern Shore (8-0 in five innings) and South Carolina State (12-0).

Senior pitcher Christina Washington went 3-0 with a 1.06 ERA and 12 strikeouts over the weekend, highlighting it by tossing the first perfect game in Boise State history in Saturday's 8-0, five-inning win over Maryland Eastern Shore.

At the plate, Kora Wade batted .667, going 12-for-18, while Tatiana Sorokina had 13 hits, including a 4-for-5 performance against South Carolina State in which she came just a double short of hitting for the cycle. Rebekah Cervantes batted .500 for the weekend, hitting two home runs, driving in nine runs and drawing seven walks, including four against South Carolina State.

    Washington Earns MW Honor
Senior pitcher Christina Washington was named Mountain West Pitcher of the Week Monday for her performance at the Willie Jewell's Invitational. Washington went 3-0 with a 1.06 ERA and 12 strikeouts, and threw the first perfect game in Boise State history in Saturday's 8-0, five-inning win over Maryland Eastern Shore.

Washington started the first game of each day for the Broncos, and early on has established herself as Boise State's No. 1 starter. Since taking the loss in Boise State's season opener at Hawai'i, Washington has gone 5-0 in her five starts since.

    Sorokina Swingin' Away
Senior Tatiana Sorokina batted .542 in Charleston last weekend, going 13-for-24 from the plate and hitting her first home run as a Bronco.

The Bronco senior highlighted her weekend by going 4-for-5 in the finale against South Carolina State, coming up just a double short of the cycle in the 12-0 win. On the year, Sorokina is batting .447 and leads the Broncos with 21 hits.

    The Bash Sisters
Boise State's offense has been led by the pop from the bats of junior Makenzie Sullivan and sophomore Rebekah Cervantes. Each player is batting .500 with four home runs, and the pair has combined to drive in 31 runs.

Cervantes, with a team-high six doubles, is slugging an eye-popping .974 so far, with Sullivan right behind her at .889.
