Head Coach Erin Thorpe and the Boise State softball team have already played in two tournaments and are less than two weeks  away from their home opener on Mach 6. The team will be hosting the first annual First Pitch Banquet on March 5 before the beginning of the State of Idaho Tournament, hosted by Boise State.

The banquet will begin with a silent auction at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 6:15 p.m. Three-time Olympic gold medalist Lori Harrigan will be the featured speaker of the evening. Entrance to the banquet is $25.

Harrigan won the Olympic gold medal for the U.S. in the 1996, 2000 and 2004 Olympics. She also became the first U.S. Olympian to throw a perfect game in a 2-0 victory over Canada in the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games. Her perfect game is one of only two no-hitters in the U.S. Olympic softball history.
