BOISE, Idaho - Friday afternoon at Dona Larsen Park was too beautiful to spend on the diamond for too long, as Boise State starter Nicole Wilson and the Broncos needed just an hour and 16 minutes to take the opener against UNLV, 10-0 in five innings.

Wilson picked up her fifth win by allowing just three hits and walking none as she went the distance for the second time this year. At the plate, Rebekah Cervantes hit her ninth home run and Teauna Hughes went 3-for-3, needing just a home run for the cycle.

Kayla Clausen was 2-for-3 with two RBI and Corey Hendrickson put the Broncos over the eight-run mark in the fourth with a pinch-hit, two-run triple.

Boise State (11-27, 3-7 MW) will go for the series win tomorrow as the teams meet at 2 p.m.

The Broncos (11-27, 3-7 MW) also took advantage of three Rebel errors. Two UNLV miscues in the bottom of the second led to three Boise State runs, beginning with Alyssa Batastini misplaying Morgan Lamb's grounder. That, following Hughes' leadoff single, put two on, and two batters later Makenzie Sullivan walked to load the bases.

Clausen scorched a line drive off Batastini's glove and into right field to score Lamb and Sullivan, then Tatiana Sorokina slapped an infield hit behind second base with Wade scoring when Madison Rogers, with no play at first or second, had the ball go off her glove and into the outfield.

Cervantes led off the third with a solo shot to left, with Hughes following with a triple to left-center and Lamb being hit by a pitch. Hughes scored on Shaelee Pearson's grounder to first, as Batastini went home with it but her throw was off-target, allowing Hughes to slide in safely. Sullivan then hit a sacrifice fly to left that scored pinch-runner Michelle Miller to make it 6-0. After a fielders choice from Wade forced out Pearson, Clausen singled to left and Sorokina plated Wade with a two-out single to left.

That was it for UNLV starter Janine Petmecky, who fell to 3-5 after giving up seven runs (four earned) on seven hits and a walk.

Boise State put things away in the fourth against Batastini as Cervantes reached on an error at shortstop to lead off the frame and Hughes doubled to left-center, putting runners on second and third. After Lamb grounded out back to Batastini, Hendrickson, batting for Pearson, lofted one towards the line in right that went off the glove of a diving Francesca Foti in right. The triple scored Cervantes and Hughes to make it 9-0. Two batters later, Wade would hit an infield single to second to plate Pearson, who re-entered to run for Hendrickson.

Wilson only ran into trouble in the first against UNLV (18-21, 2-8 MW), as the Rebels put runners on the corners with two out before Chrissi Omalza flied out to right to end the threat. Wilson only allowed four more baserunners the rest of the way, cruising through her five innings.
