BOISE, Idaho -- Boise State fell behind 10-0 and could not recover in Wednesday's series finale against No. 25 Fresno State at Dona Larsen Park as the Bulldogs completed the sweep with an 18-2, five-inning win.

The Broncos (8-26, 0-6 MW) will have a quick turnaround, traveling to Fort Collins for a three-game set this weekend. The series with the Rams begins with a doubleheader Friday and concludes Saturday.

It was déjà vu for the Broncos in Wednesday's first inning, as the Bulldogs (20-9-1, 3-0 MW), for the second time in this series, loaded the bases and hit a grand slam to take a 4-0 lead. This time it was Lindsey Willmon delivering the big hit for the Bulldogs off of starter Jenna Bassler.

Willmon added a two-run double and a three-run homer later in the contest, finishing the day 3-for-4 with nine RBI.

The Bulldogs opened it up in the second, taking advantage of a Bronco error to score seven unearned runs. With two away and a runner on third, Bronco first baseman Teauna Hughes couldn't come up with a grounder from Malia Rivers, allowing Vanessa Hernandez to score and extending the inning.

Walks to Kierra Willis and Alyssa Villalpando loaded the bases, and another walk to Paige Gumz forced in a run and spelled the end of the day for Bassler. Nicole Wilson came on in relief, immediately giving up a two-run double to Willmon and a two-run single to Dominque Jackson, making it 9-0 Fresno State. Jackson would score a few batters later on Bria Kennedy's bases-loaded walk.

Bassler fell to 1-9 with the loss, giving up nine runs (four earned) on three hits and five walks. Wilson was charged with two earned runs over the final third of the second.

Morgan Lamb got the Broncos on the board with a solo homer in the second, her second of the series. Rebekah Cervantes drove in the second Bronco run in the third to highlight her 3-for-3 day.

But that would be all the Broncos could get off of Bulldog starter Jill Compton, who improved to 11-4 by scattering eight hits and striking out a batter.

Fresno State put things away with seven runs off of Shawna Burke and Paige Reimann in the fifth. The Bulldogs sent 12 batters to the plate in the frame and did most of their damage on Kennedy's two-run home run and Willmon's three-run shot.
