BOISE, Idaho - Boise State led early but San Diego State scored 15 unanswered runs to capture the win, and the series, 16-2 Saturday at Dona Larsen Park.

The teams will close out the series Sunday at noon.

Hailey Torrez rapped a two-run single to right in the bottom of the first for the Broncos (8-27, 0-5 MW) to give them a 2-1 lead, but that was all they would get. San Diego State (22-12, 5-0 MW), after a scoreless second inning, scored the next 15 runs, five in each of the third, fourth and fifth innings, highlighted by four home runs, two of which were grand slams.

Torrez went 2-for-3 with two RBI to pace the Broncos, while Devon Bridges, Sara Ketelsleger, Jordan Kreiger and Shaelee Pearson each had a single in the contest.

The Aztecs hit five home runs Saturday, led by three, including a grand slam, from Lorena Bauer, who went 4-for-4 with seven RBI. It was her grand slam in the third inning that put San Diego State up for good, turning a 2-1 Bronco lead into a 5-2 advantage. Bronco starter Mackenzie McGill walked the bases loaded to start the frame, Nicole Wilson came on in relief to face Bauer, who promptly drove one deep to center to clear the sacks.

Hayley Miles added a two-out grand slam in the fifth for San Diego State to cap her 2-for-4, five-RBI day.

San Diego State would add a fifth run in the inning when Jenavee Peres and Kayla Bufardeci singled, and Peres came in on Kaitlin Connors' fielder's choice.

Bauer struck again with two out in the fourth, sending a Wilson offering out to left for a two-run shot and a 7-2 Aztec lead. San Diego State then loaded the bases on a pair of walks and a bunt single from Victoria Kobold, followed by Hayley Miles' single to center that plated Peres as Bufardeci scored on Kayla Clausen's fielding error in center. Leia Ruiz then drove in Kobold with a base hit.

The Aztecs got a solo home run from Bauer and a two-out grand slam from Miles to add five more in the fifth.

McGill took the loss for the Broncos, falling to 3-6 after giving up nine runs on five hits with seven walks. Wilson was charged with seven runs (six earned) on eight hits.

Erica Romero improved to 20-9 for San Diego State after giving up five hits and two unearned runs over four innings.
