Bronco Softball donates to Locks of Love

Fresno State softball hosted a Locks of Love donation event after the April 13, game between the Broncos and Bulldogs. Boise State head coach Erin Thorpe and freshman Maddy Foster joined in to donate 10 inches of their hair. Their hair will be used to create hair pieces for children with medical conditions which prevent them from growing hair.

    JUNIOR (2015): Appeared in six games, starting one...started second game of a doubleheader at CSU Bakersfield (March 15)...was hitless in six at-bats on the year.

    SOPHOMORE (2014): Appeared in 19 games, making one start...her one start came in the outfield against Southern Utah on March 15...made 17 appearances as a pinch runner, remained in the game as designated player thrice...hitless in five at-bats on the year...scored four runs.

    FRESHMAN (2013): Appeared in nine games, making one start in left field...scored one run...made five appearances as a pinch runner...pinch hit twice and remained in the game to play second base...donated hair to Locks of Love during on-field event held at Fresno State after game between the Broncos and Bulldogs (April 13)...MW Scholar-Athlete.

    HIGH SCHOOL: Four-year letterwinner at Gig Harbor under head coach John Taylor...started every game as a freshman, junior and senior...played second base as a freshman before moving to shortstop final three seasons...named first-team All-Narrows League and honorable mention all-area as a senior after hitting .526 with 20 runs scored and seven stolen bases...batting average ranked sixth in state of Washington for 2012, according to MaxPreps.com...All-Narrows League Second Team as a freshman and honorable mention as a junior...team MVP as a junior and senior...team captain final two seasons...played summer ball for Washington Acers and most recently Absolute Blast, which has produced fellow Broncos Katie Engelbrecht, Lindsey Nicholson and Makenna Weir...bats left-handed and throws right-handed...plans to study communication, media production.
