Athlete of the Week: 11/2-8: Erica Parks
BOISE, Idaho – Three goals, two game-winners, WAC Tournament MVP and a WAC Championship were the highlights of Erica Parks’ week and have earned her the Bronco Athlete of the Week honors. The freshman came to life last week for the Boise State women’s soccer team and launched it into the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history.

Parks, a native of Nampa, Idaho, scored one goal in each of the Broncos three matches this week. She scored the game-winner against Utah State to put the Broncos in the WAC Championship and then scored the game-winner in the championship match less than a minute after entering the game. The Broncos will find out tonight at 6 p.m. (MT) who they will face in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Friday.

Other teams in action this week include both basketball teams with the men’s team opening its regular season on the road and the women’s team hosting a pair of games in Taco Bell Arena. The volleyball team returns to Bronco Gym for its final two home matches of the season and the women’s swimming and diving team will face WAC-foe Northern Arizona at the West YMCA. The football team also returns home this weekend to face in-state rival, Idaho.
