Boise State's Saxton, Jones and Hendrix Named All-WAC for Soccer...
Senior Trio honored by WAC.

DENVER--The 2010 women’s soccer All-WAC teams were announced Wednesday night, as selected by the conference's nine head coaches. Among those honored was Boise State’s trio of seniors Shannon Saxton, Malia Hendrix and Cheyenne Jones. Saxton and Jones made the first team while Hendrix was named to the second team.

Saxton became the first Boise State player to be named All-WAC four times and to the first team twice. She was a first team honoree as a freshman and senior, second team the other two seasons. She is a four-year letterwinner as a forward for Boise State starting 75 of 76 matches played to date. Shannon has rewritten the Bronco record book in her four years. Her name can be found in nearly every offensive category’s top-10 list. She owns 31 school records, including match records for most goals and points, season marks for most goals (17), assists (8) and points (39), as well as, career marks for most goals with 35, assists with 20 and points with 90.  She is also an outstanding student as a three-time Academic All-WAC honoree.

Jones is a four-year letterwinner as a midfielder for Boise State, starting 74 of 81 matches played to date. She is one of three Broncos to start every game this year. Cheyenne has recorded nine goals and seven assists for 25 career points. She ranks 13th all-time for career goals and points, 10th in assists, and second for career games played and third for starts. Cheyenne is also an outstanding student and is an Academic All-WAC honoree.

After spending one season at the University of Montana, Hendrix returned to her hometown to compete for Boise State. Over the last three seasons, Malia has anchored the defensive line helping the program to the top of the conference standings. The defender has started all 63 matches she has played for the Broncos. During her time with Boise State the defense has recorded the second and third best marks for goals against average and fewest goals allowed. Her success transcends the soccer field to the classroom where she is a two-time Academic All-WAC honoree. This week she was named to the CoSIDA/ESPN the Magazine's Academic All District Team.
