2011 Bronco Season Notebook

► BRINGING HOME SOME HARDWARE- The Broncos captured the 2011 Governor's Cup with their 1-0 win over the Vandals, Saturday, completing the sweep of Idaho's Division I teams. The orange and blue defeated Idaho State earlier in the season, 2-0.

Originally called the Gem State Cup, the Governor's Cup was created by Idaho State Head Coach Gordon Henderson to honor the state in which the competition resides.  Those eligible to compete are all NCAA Division I institutions within the state of Idaho: Boise State University, Idaho State University and the University of Idaho.

► COMING IN HOT- The Broncos are entering the Mountain West Tournament after winning three of their last four games. Each of the three wins has come by a single-goal margin, with every game-winner being scored in the second half.

► POSTSEASON PROTECTION - The Broncos' net has been well guarded in the postseason over the past two years with Liz Ruiz in goal. The Boise, Idaho native has a 4-1 career record in conference tournament action and has allowed only four goals in those five games.

► BOISE BESTS - Senior goalkeeper Liz Ruiz became the winningest goalkeeper in Boise State history when she notched her 27th win against San Diego State. The previous record was 26 held by Kim Parker.

With her start against Idaho, senior defender Lindsay Roberts notched the most career starts in Boise State history with 78. The previous record was 77 held by 2010 graduate Shannon Saxton.
