Bronco Soccer Hosts Final Three Home Games of 2013

BOISE, Idaho - The Boise State women's soccer team will host San Diego State (Oct. 25, 4 p.m.), New Mexico (Oct. 27, noon) and Air Force (Oct. 30, 11 a.m.) for the final home games of the season. With the ever-changing standings in conference play, the Broncos are gunning for a place in the top of the standings. This weekend's contests will prove challenging, as both opponents' conference records stand at 6-1-0.

Friday's contest against San Diego State will feature the best defense in the conference (Boise State, 0.81 goals allowed per game) against the most prolific scoring in the Mountain West (SDSU, 1.44 goals per game) . The Broncos are right behind the Aztecs in goals scored this season, with 22 compared to the Aztecs' 23. The Aztecs are 6-1-0 in conference play, good for a share of first place. Boise State will look to avenge last season's losses against San Diego State and New Mexico. Both of those contests were decided off late second half goals.

Fans can show their ticket from the football game against Nevada to receive free admission to the soccer game on Friday against San Diego State. Also, fans in attendance can enter to win tickets to Macklemore & Ryan Lewis for their concert at Taco Bell Arena later that night.

The game on Sunday against New Mexico will also feature a tight defensive game, as the Lobos are averaging 0.94 goals allowed per game. Both San Diego State and New Mexico have qualified for the conference tournament.

The Broncos will honor the senior class on Sunday, including Gabby Garcia, Tylyn Hughes, Katy Oehring, Ashley Hruby, Mackenzie Hickel, Maddy McDevitt and Rebe Wolverton. On the offensive side, this senior class has amassed seven goals, four assists and two game-winning goals this season. For the goalkeepers, McDevitt has solidified her place in the Bronco record book, setting the record for most shutouts in a season with seven individual shutouts and one combined.

Sunday's game will be youth club soccer appreciation day, and every young athlete who wears their club jersey will receive free admission to the game against New Mexico.

The Mountain West Conference has announced the rescheduled game against Air Force will be Wednesday, Oct. 30 at 11 a.m. Admission will be free to the public for the contest, so fans can stop by on their lunch break to catch the last home game of the season.
