LARAMIE, Wyo. - The Boise State women's soccer team (4-7-1) fell 1-0 in its conference opener against Wyoming (7-4-2) at the Louis S. Madrid Soccer Complex, Friday.

Loren Mahoney scored her first career goal and the Cowgirls' game-winner in the 49th minute. The freshman midfielder fired a free kick from 45 yards out that found the top right corner of the net past Boise State goalie, Megan Blanchard.

"We certainly learned a lesson today that we have to show up and play in this conference whether we are on the road or at home," said head coach Steve Lucas. "We weren't as good as we can be today but they played their style and got it done."

The Broncos were outshot 11-6 in the game, but recorded only one fewer shots on goal.

The Broncos will look to bounce back and get a weekend split on the road when they face nonconference opponent Seattle, Sunday. The Redhawks entered the weekend with an 8-3-0 record and faced Gonzaga, Friday.
