Boise State Soccer Ties With TCU 1-1?

BOISE, Idaho (10/1/2006) The Boise State Broncos and Texas Christian (TCU) Horned Frogs battled to a hard fought 1-1 draw Sunday afternoon in Boise. It was the second double-overtime match of the weekend for Boise State who defeated Sacramento State 4-3 in the second overtime period on Friday in Sacramento. This afternoon against the Horned Frogs, senior Molly McDonald put Boise State up 1-0 in the 55th minute when she scored from short range after TCU failed to clear a Bronco corner kick that was knocked around in the box.

TCU rallied to force overtime with four minutes to go in regulation when Lizzy Karoly chipped a high shot from 25 yards out on the right wing that sailed over the outstretched hands of Kim Parker in goal. Neither team was able to beat the keepers in the two extra-time periods resulting in the first draw of the season for Boise State who is now 2-0-1 in overtime matches this year.

It was the first home match for the Broncos in more than three weeks as they wrapped up non-league action at 5-4-1 overall, TCU moves to 5-5-1 on the year. Boise State opens WAC action this Friday at San Jose State followed by a home match against Hawaii on Sunday.
