Hruby, McDevitt Earn MW Player of the Week Honors

Sept. 16, 2013

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Mountain West Conference announced Boise State's Ashley Hruby as the Offensive Player of the Week and Maddy McDevitt as the Defensive Player of the Week, today.

Hruby, a senior forward from Vancouver, Wash., earned her first player of the week honors today. She recorded an assist against North Dakota State, and scored a goal and an assist against North Dakota. Hruby has five points this season, already marking her season-best. Hruby is the second Bronco offensive player of the week recipient this season, as sophomore Brooke Heidemann earned recognition earlier this year.

Redshirt junior goalkeeper Maddy McDevitt earned Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced. This is also the first-career weekly accolade for the goalkeeper. McDevitt, the Edmonds, Wash. native, set a Bronco record, not allowing a goal in 451 minutes. In that time span, she earned shutouts in three double-overtime games. McDevitt earned the first defensive honors for Boise State this season, and the first since Megan Blanchard in 2012.

This is the first time Boise State has swept player of the week honors for the Mountain West, and second time in the history of the program.
