Boise State junior midfielder Nicole Tadman has been named the Western Athletic Conference’s Offensive Player of the Week. Tadman, a junior from Lake Forest, Calif. (Mission Viejo HS/Drake), scored two goals last week helping the Broncos (4-1-0) to wins over Utah Valley State and Eastern Washington. She recorded the match-winning goal against Utah Valley State on Wednesday, Sept. 6, in Boise, then followed that up with the first of four Bronco goals in an overtime win at Eastern Washington on Friday, Sept. 8. The two scoring strikes were the first of her Bronco career after transferring to Boise State for her sophomore season in 2005.

Both of Tadman’s goals were similar in nature. The scoring shots came following clearances by the oppositions’ keepers that deflected high outside of the 18-yard box. Tadman tracked both punch-outs down, then immediately volleyed shots from distance back towards goal that sailed high over the keepers’ out-stretched hands and just under the crossbar. On the week she took a combined two shots, both strikes were good for goals.

Tadman’s player of the week honor was the first in her career and the eighth for Boise State since joining the WAC in 2001.
