Broncos to Host Seattle in First Home Match of the Year...

► What’s Happening - Boise State University’s women’s soccer team is home for the first time this season when the Broncos host Seattle University at 1:00 p.m. (Mountain) on Sunday. The match will be played at the Boas Tennis and Soccer Complex on South Oakland Avenue. Boise State has spent the first three weekends on the road, this is the first of five home matches this year and the only one before October.

► Broncos Looking for 100th Win - The Boise State soccer program has 99 victories in program history dating back to the inaugural season of 1998. This weekend the Broncos could reach the milestone 100th victory when they host Seattle U. on Sunday.

► Match 7 Preview, vs. Seattle U. - Boise State will host a good Seattle University squad this weekend in its first home match of the season. The Broncos enter the week at 2-4 overall while the Redhawks come to Boise at 4-2 overall and ranked ninth regionally by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).

● The Series:
This will be the third encounter between Boise State and Seattle all-time with the Redhawks winning the previous two encounters.

● Last Time: The last time these two met was the 2009 season opener on Aug. 21 at Seattle where the Redhawks won 1-0 on a Jamie Peterson 30th minute goal.

● About the Redhawks: Seattle University just recently moved up into the NCAA Division I ranks from Division II and as a result competes as an independent. The Redhawks return eight starters and 17 letterwinners from last season’s squad that went 7-10-1 overall. Offensively, no one has scored more than one goal for Seattle U., however six different individuals have scored a goal to date.

● Seattle’s Head Coach: Julie Woodward is in her 14th season as head coach at Seattle where she has gone 186-69-23 to date, her career mark as a head coach is the same.

► What’s Happened Recently - The Broncos struggled last weekend dropping a pair of 1-0 matches at the Governor’s Cup in Pocatello, Idaho. Boise State opened with a 1-0 loss to Utah Valley on Friday, Sept. 3, then lost a heartbreaker to Idaho State 1-0 in overtime at ISU’s Davis Field on Sunday, Sept. 5. The Broncos had trouble getting shots off during the two-game stretch as they were out shot 14-to-seven in shots on goal.

► Ruiz and Hickok Named to All-Tournament Team - Boise State was represented on the Governor’s Cup All-Tournament team by junior goalkeeper Liz Ruiz and sophomore defender Lauren Hickok. Both had solid performances in Pocatello last weekend.
