Broncos Picked Seventh in Mountain West

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. –
Boise State soccer was picked to finish seventh in the Mountain West in a preseason poll by the conference’s coaches. The Broncos return nine starters from last year’s team that finished sixth and qualified to the Mountain West Championship tournament.

San Diego State was picked to win the conference with 110 points and three first-place votes. San José State was a close second, also earning three first-place votes and 108 points. The 2016 Mountain West Champions, UNLV, were picked to finish third courtesy of 101 points, but led the way with five votes to repeat as champions.

Utah State (97 points) also received a first-place nod in fourth, while Wyoming (fifth; 70) and Fresno State (sixth; 66) were just ahead of the Broncos (seventh; 64).

The Blue and Orange opens its season at home on Friday, Aug. 18 at 5 p.m. against Montana. The Broncos will then play host to Southern Utah two days later on Sunday, Aug. 20 at 1 p.m.

In total, Boise State will host four non-conference and six conference matches for 10 opportunities to see the Broncos compete in the 20-match season. Make sure to check out the complete schedule.
