Bronco Soccer Voted to Finish Sixth in Mountain West
Colorado Springs - In a vote by the league's coaches, the Boise State women's soccer team was picked to finish sixth in the Mountain West preseason poll, Tuesday.

The Broncos received 14 points, seven points ahead of seventh-ranked Air Force and one point behind fifth-place Wyoming. San Diego State was crowned the preseason favorites with 34 points, followed closely by New Mexico, which earned 33 points. UNLV (24 points) and TCU (20) are slated to finish third and fourth, respectively.

The 2011 squad, which is led by 12th year head coach Steve Lucas, have 22 letterwinners returning including two of their top three point-leaders. Boise State finished 8-10-3 last season and only two points out of first place.

The season will kick off with an exhibition fundraiser for former Bronco Amy Dunn, Aug. 12 before the regular-season opener against Montana, Aug. 19. The Broncos will open league play Sept. 30 in Laramie, Wyo., with a game against the Cowgirls before returning home to face Air Force, Oct. 8.
