Broncos to Help Conduct Soccer Celebration Clinics

BOISE, Idaho -

Boise State women's soccer coaches and student-athletes will help conduct Soccer Celebration Clinics being hosted by St. Luke's this week in conjunction with the Basque Soccer Friendly. The clinics will take place Thursday and Friday, at various area locations. Participation in the free clinics is open to children ages 6 to 12 in Nampa, Caldwell and Boise.

The Basque Soccer Friendly is an international professional soccer match between Athletic Bilbao and Club Tijuana, taking place Saturday, July 18, at Albertsons Stadium. Tickets are available through the Boise State Athletic Ticket Office and

With world-class soccer coming to Boise, St. Luke's is taking the opportunity to celebrate the event and highlight the importance of healthy, active lifestyles for area youth. St. Luke's and some of its partners, including Boise State women's soccer, are putting on four free clinics to showcase soccer as a fun way to engage kids in physical activity. Below is information on each clinic, including how to register:

Thursday, July 16

-Registration open to Playcamp or Neighborhood Community Center afterschool program participants

Friday, July 17

The following Boise State women's soccer student-athletes will be volunteering their time to assist with the clinics: Bailey Anderson, Baylee Blaser, Madi Campbell, KT Clayton, Jenna Clubb, Hailey DeVries, Kelli Drobney, Janelle Flores, Brooke Heidemann, Kelli McCluskey, Sarah Taylor, Kayla Tucker, Jessie Vogel and Allegra Weeks. Head coach Jim Thomas and assistant coaches Ed Moore and Maite Zabala will also help with instruction at the clinics.

About the Basque Soccer Friendly
The Basque Soccer Friendly LLC is a partnership between the Basque Studies Foundation and the Idaho Youth Soccer Association. Together they are working to bring this unique community event to Boise, Idaho, and create greater awareness for both organizations. All proceeds from the Basque Soccer Friendly will go to the Basque Studies Foundation to supports scholarships and Basque Studies programming at Boise State University and soccer scholarships for Idaho youth provided by the Idaho Youth Soccer Association.
