Boise State Soccer signs Washington's Molly Hill to a National Letter of Intent...

BOISE, Idaho (4-9-08) - Steve Lucas, Boise State University’s head soccer coach, announced today the signing of Molly Hill to a national letter of intent. Hill, a prep standout from Sammamish, Washington, will join the squad this August and will compete at the forward position. She will help fill the void left by the graduation of 11 seniors from this year’s team that tied for second place in the Western Athletic Conference race. Hill is the 15th member of the 2008 recruiting class which now includes two transfers and 13 high school seniors.

"Molly gives us some size and speed up front" said Lucas. "She is very good with the ball at her feet and we are excited to see what she can add to our front line."

The Broncos will report to campus on Tuesday, August 5th with the first day of practice being Wednesday, August 6th. The first match of the 2008 campaign will be on Friday, August 22 when Boise State host cross-valley opponent Northwest Nazarene University. It will be the first of 19 matches in the regular season which includes seven home contests.

Molly Hill’s Profile...

Hill is currently a senior at Eastlake High School in Sammamish, Washington. The 5-9 forward started the last two seasons of her three-year stint as a member of the Wolves’ varsity squad. In three seasons, Hill competed in 58 matches with 49 starts accumulating 20 goals and 18 assists, including eight goals and six assists as a senior. She is a two-time honorable mention All-KingCo Conference honoree. As team captain this past fall she led her team to a perfect undefeated season at 19-0-0, the KingCo Conference title, the 4A Washington state championship, and a national team ranking of six by the NSCAA. During her three-year varsity career Eastlake High went 45-7-5 overall and 31-5-4 in league. In addition to this year’s state title they placed third her junior season. Her high school soccer coach was Chuck Krieble. She was also a track standout earning three letters running the 4x200 and 4x1600 relays, and the 400 meter dash. Hill played club ball for both the FC Alliance 89 Gold of Bothell, Wash. U17-U18 and Crossfire 89 Williams of Redmond, Wash. U15-U16. She has been a four-year starter at both the forward (U16-U18) and midfield (U15) positions.
