Boise State Announces 2006 Soccer Recruiting Class
BOISE, Idaho - (2/7/2006) - Steve Lucas, Boise State head soccer coach, announced today his 2006 recruiting class with the signing of two JC transfers and four high school seniors. The class has a mix of talented athletes that will add depth at nearly every position for the Broncos who return 21 letterwinners from last season.

This year’s class includes two junior college midfielders in Brittney Dugger from Walla Walla (Wash.) Community College and Erin Wofford from Santa Rosa (Calif.) Junior College. Those two are joined by four current high school seniors, three of which are from Idaho. The four include Kaylea Perenon of Oakland, California, while the three Idahoans are Jaime Jones of Pocatello, Danielle Schwalbe of Boise, and Sabrena Schwinn from Eagle.

“This year’s class gives us added depth and strength in most positions,” commented Lucas. “They all possess solid attacking skills and have a good combination of size and speed for their positions. We expect them to contribute immediately and make an impact on next year’s squad.”



Brittney Dugger is a native of Richland, Washington where she graduated from Richland High School in 2004...competed this past fall at Walla Walla Community College in Washington...she is a 5-7 sophomore center midfielder....was a starter for the Warriors this past fall...played in 28 matches earning 27 starts during the season...recorded 12 goals and 11 assists for 35 points, ranking her 10th in the NWAACC for goals and second in assists...helped lead the team to a 16-0-2 league record and a 25-1-2 overall advanced to the 2005 NWAACC championship match placing second...was named to the NWAACC Southeast Division all-star team...received NWAACC all-academic team honors...WWCC coach was Chad Bodnar...played freshman year at St. Rose College where she start in ten of 20 matches...recorded four goals and two went 13-5-2 overall and 9-3-2 in league.

Erin Wofford is a native of Santa Rosa, California where she graduated from Maria Carrillo High School in 2004... currently a sophomore at Santa Rosa Junior College in Santa Rosa, California where she received all-state and first team NSCAA/adidas All-American honors this past fall ...she is a 5-5 center midfielder... a two year starter for the Bearcubs and a team captain last season...played in 42 matches with 40 starts during her two year career...scored a combined 29 goals while dishing out 19 assists in two seasons...was ranked 28th among California junior college players this past fall for points scored as a sophomore with 17 goals and 10 assists for 44 points...led the team to a combined record of 29-7-6 and two consecutive Big 7 Conference advanced to the California Junior College Tournament each season reaching the third round her freshman year...she was a two-time All-Nor Cal and all-region selection...junior college coach is Karen Stanley.


Jaime Jones is currently a senior at Pocatello High School in Pocatello, Idaho...she is a 5-4 midfielder...four year starter for the Indian varsity advanced to state senior year placing third in the 4A classification...three-time All-Great Basin honoree, first team junior and senior seasons...two time team captain and defensive MVP...also lettered in basketball and track...high school coach was Doug Merkley...played club ball for the Portneuf Valley Soccer Club United of Pocatello...four-year starter at sweeper for coach is Rick Jackman.

Kaylea Perenon is currently a senior at Bishop O’Dowd High School in Oakland, California...she is a 5-6 midfield/forward...a four year member of the varsity squad...high school coach is JT Hanley...plays club ball for Bay Oaks Soccer Club of Oakland, coach is Kevin Boyd.

Danielle Schwalbe is a senior at Borah High School in Boise...she is a 5-7 forward...a two-time all-conference player for the Lions, first team as a junior and second team senior year...received all-academic team honors senior year...high school coach is Erik Simmonsen...plays club ball for the Boise Capitals Soccer has won six Idaho State championships...advanced to regionals five times reaching the Far West semifinals won the 2004 Surf Cup (Gold) coaches are Stephan DeFour and Mike Brown...

Sabrena Schwinn is a senior at Eagle High School in Eagle, Idaho...she is a 5-7 defender...two year member and starter for the Mustangs varsity team...played in 19 games for Eagle starting 17...suffered injury during fourth game of senior season and missed the rest of year...recorded two goals and dished out seven assists throughout won the state 5A title junior season...high school coach was Stephanie Forenander...played club ball for Les Bois United of Boise...four-year starter for Les Bois, two as a defender and two in has advanced to state the last three seasons finishing second twice and winning the state cup in 2005.
