BOISE, Idaho - Boise State women's soccer head coach Steve Lucas announced, Thursday, Kayla Tucker of Canyon Lake, Calif., signed a letter of intent to join the Broncos. Tucker is currently in her senior season as a forward/midfielder at Temescal Canyon High School.

She can play either in the midfield or up front and we are excited about that versatility," Lucas said. "She is a tough kid as well. She knows how to score goals but she knows how to set up goals as well so that's a bonus for us."

Tucker is a four-year starter at Canyon Lake under head coach Jeff Vaughn. She helped her team to a league championship during her junior year, scoring 19 goals and eight assists. During that season, Tucker was named team MVP, first team All-Sunbelt League as well as third team All-CIF V.

At the club level, Tucker played for Arsenal FC under coach Cle Koiman, finishing as Coast Soccer League co-champions during the 2010-11 season.

"I chose Boise State because of the great soccer program and coaches, awesome football team and it seems like a fun college town," said Tucker.
