Bronco Soccer Signs Accomplished Class
Feb. 1, 2017

Boise State women's soccer added six incoming freshmen for the 2017 season, head coach Jim Thomas announced Wednesday. The class is highlighted by the Idaho state player of the year, a member of the Philippines National Team and numerous youth national championship appearances.

The Broncos welcomes Aubree Chatterton (Boise, Idaho; Bishop Kelly HS), Jazel Dennison (Renton, Wash.; Kentridge HS), Alexis Lloyd (Las Vegas; Palo Verde HS), Kennedy Oleson (Tigard, Ore.; Tualatin HS), Jennifer Turnek (Oak Harbor, Wash.; Oak Harbor HS) and Delaney Watson (Bow, Wash.; Burlington-Edison HS).

"When you put classes together, you have two different molds," said Thomas. "You need protagonists who come in right away and perform. You also need players who come in and have a year to work their way in. Nationally, the speed of recruiting has sped up so much that it has become difficult to continue to keep that balance. We decided to make a stand this year. We recruited much later, and I think we're going to see the fruits of that labor. In this class we have protagonists and players who are going to show a lot of development. They're not finished products, but they're ready to impact us right away. That's a virtue of us as a staff working slower within the recruiting process. It allowed us a longer period to evaluate."
