Broncos Finish Weekend Unbeaten, Tie UNLV 1-1

BOISE, Idaho - The Boise State women's soccer team was forced to play from a goal down for the second-straight match, but once again rallied back to earn a point in its 1-1 draw with UNLV, Sunday.

Junior Katy Oehring scored the Broncos' goal at the 51-minute mark on a direct free kick from 25 yards out. Oehring lined up a shot that went over the Rebel wall of defenders and sunk into the top right corner of the net over the UNLV keeper. The strike marked Oehring's fourth goal of the season, second-most on the team.

Boise State conceded the UNLV goal in the ninth minute after a pass by Macy Jo Harrison took an unfortunate bounce, leading Susie Bernal to a one-on-one chance with goalkeeper Maddy McDevitt. Bernal buried the shot from 12 yards out.

McDevitt finished with five saves on the day, including a diving save to her left in the 80th minute which kept the teams on level terms.

The Broncos were outshot 22-14, total, thanks in part to the first overtime period where the Rebels recorded five shots while Boise State could not answer with an attempt of its own. Five of the Broncos' 14 shots were on target.

Boise State will play its final regular season match against Nevada, Saturday, Oct. 27 at 1 p.m. Eight Bronco seniors will be recognized before kickoff of their last match at the Boas Soccer Complex.

The Orange and Blue have already clinched a berth to the Mountain West Tournament in San Diego. They currently sit in third place, one point ahead of UNLV and two points ahead of both Nevada and Fresno State.
