Final Stats

EUGENE, Ore. - Boise State struck first, but Oregon rallied for a 2-1 victory Friday, in a match that featured three goals in the final 25 minutes. The Ducks (4-0-1) scored the equalizer in the 77th minute and put away the winner in the 80th. Eva Herrera got the Broncos (1-3-0) out to a 1-0 lead in the 65th minute with her second goal of the year.

After trading possession and scoring opportunities for the first 60 minutes, Oregon strung together a handful of looks. The Broncos were able to counter in the 65th when Herrera made a run from midfield across the pitch toward the left sideline. Freshman Kristina Serres spun away from pressure and fed a beautiful pass down the sideline just as Herrera inched past Oregon's last line of defense.

The sophomore ran onto the ball and worked her way forward to the corner of the box. Herrera waited until the goalkeeper committed and blasted a shot to the right post. The strike found the back of the net, ending a scoreless streak of 277:31. Herrera was also the last Bronco to score, netting the game winner in the season opener against Idaho State.

With the Broncos on top, Oregon began pressing forward. The Ducks took 10 of their 17 shots in the second half and six of their eight corner kicks after halftime as well. In the 77th minute, after two corner kicks, a scrum in the box resulted in Mario Sweatman tucking away the game-tying goal.

Just moments later, Oregon was on the attack again. A Bronco turnover gave the Ducks a shot from 25 yards out. Abby Morrow took a rip from the top of the box on the right side of the goal. The ball deflected off the head of a Bronco defender and spun toward the left post. Boise State goalkeeper Tara Fisher got her hands on the ball but could not stop it from trickling over the goal line.

The Broncos pushed forward in the final 10 minutes and had a pair of chances in the closing minutes, but could not threaten the net.

Fisher made seven saves in her season debut.

Boise State will return to action Sunday, at Oregon State. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. PT/2 p.m. MT.
