Broncos Edged by Montana

BOISE, Idaho - A 65th minute strike by Montana's Erin Craig would decide the Boise State women's soccer team's (2-3-0) fate in a 1-0 loss to the Grizzlies, Friday at the Bronco Invitational.

Craig collected a pass from teammate Mary Makris yards out from goal, took two touches and drilled a ball into the top right corner past the outstretched arms of Bronco goalkeeper Maddy McDevitt.

The loss was Boise State's first at home this season.

McDevitt saw a lot of action in goal as the Grizzles fired 20 shots and nine shots on goal. The redshirt sophomore made eight saves, seven in the second half, saving almost certain goals on numerous occasions.

Montana was the aggressor in the match, putting up nine more shots than the Broncos as well as eight more shots on target.

Boise State is now 5-6-1 all-time against Montana in what has been a suspenseful series. Eleven of the 12 matches have been decided by a goal or less.

Boise State will look to snap its three-game losing streak, Sunday against Idaho State. Kickoff is slated for 2 p.m. at the Boas Tennis and Soccer Complex. Idaho State is 4-0-0 on the season and defeated Idaho, 2-0, Friday.
