BOISE, Idaho – Boise State gymnastics adds Danielle Shafer to their class for 2018-19, co-head coaches Tina Bird and Neil Resnick announced today.

Shafer will come to Boise State from the Colorado Gymnastic Institute where she is coached by Vincio and Sonia Leira and Lindy Franzini.

“We are excited to announce the addition of Dani Shafer to our 2018-19 roster,” said co-head coach Bird. “Dani will be of immediate help on vault and is looking to contribute on other events as well. She is a beautiful athlete, excellent student and has all the qualities we look for in a Bronco.”

In 2017, as a second-year level 10 gymnast, Shafer qualified for JO Nationals. She also placed first on vault at the 2017 Winterfest Classic.

Outside of gymnastics, Shafer excels in the classroom, boasting a 4.0 GPA and is a member of the National Honor Society and the Spanish National Honor Society.

Shafer said, “In 2018 I am excited to continue on my upward journey! I have added several new skills and can’t wait to improve even more at Boise State.”
