Bronco Gymnasts Energized by 2013 Slate

BOISE, Idaho – The Boise State gymnastics program has released its schedule for the 2013 season which begins in January. The schedule features four home meets at Boise State’s Taco Bell Arena, and includes three opponents who finished the 2012 season in the top-25.  

The Broncos kick off their 2013 season at home on Fri., Jan. 18 against Utah State. The home schedule also includes a Beauty & the Beast competition on Fri., Feb. 1 versus BYU, as well as a Sun., Feb. 10 match-up against Southeast Missouri. The Broncos’ final home meet will come Fri., March 1 against Southern Utah.

Boise State, who finished No. 14 in the 2012 rankings, has a tough start to its road schedule, beginning with a trip to Lincoln, Neb., on Sat., Jan. 26 to take on Nebraska, who finished the 2012 season ranked No. 8. The Broncos continue with tough opponents on Fri., Feb. 15 when they face No. 7-ranked Oklahoma in Norman, Okla. The Broncos close out February with a trip to No. 23-ranked Denver on Feb. 23. On March 8, the Broncos compete in their first multi-team meet taking on San Jose State and UC Davis in San Jose, Calif. They follow a week later (March 15) with a trip to Logan, Utah, to face Utah State for a second time in their final regular season competition.

The 2013 Western Athletic Conference Championships will be held on Sat., March 23 in Cedar City, Utah, with Southern Utah playing host. On April 6, the Broncos hope to compete in one of six NCAA Regional meets hosted throughout the country, while the NCAA National Championships are slated for April 19-21 in Los Angeles (host UCLA).
