Shani Remme - 2015 Junior Olympics | All 4 Events

BOISE, Idaho - Co-head coaches Tina Bird and Neil Resnick announced the signing of Sarah Means and Shani Remme to the Boise State gymnastics program. Means and Remme will enroll at the university and join the team for the 2015-16 school year.

"We are thrilled to have these two exceptional athletes join our team for perhaps our strongest freshman class in school history," said Bird. "Both Sarah and Shani bring a level of competitive expertise to the team that is unmatched in previous freshman classes. They excel in the classroom and on the competition floor, and they are dedicated, fun people to be around."

Means (Las Vegas, Nev./Gymcats) will attend Boise State as a two-time state champion and a two-time all-around regional champion with having collected four top-five finishes on the national stage. Means is a Level 10 Senior D gymnast whose top vault score totaled a 9.925, done at the 2015 Elevate Gym Fest.

"Sarah is a dynamic athlete who will contribute to the team on all four events," said Resnick. "She has an especially difficult vault that will be a definite crowd pleaser."

Means will look to break into the Bronco vault lineup. In 2014, Boise State maintained its highest all-time average in the history of the program (49.224).

Remme (Loomis, Calif./Byers Roseville) comes to Boise State as a Level 10 Senior C, 2013 and 2014 Junior Olympics National Qualifier. She hit 97 percent of her routines in 2014, finishing her season with a T5th-place finish at JO's in the all-around. She is a standout on the balance beam and will seek to earn a spot in the lineup as a rookie. Remme is a member of the California Scholarship Federation and holds a 3.78 GPA.

"Shani is a beautiful gymnast who excels on all four events, but is especially exciting to watch on the balance beam," said Bird. "She exudes confidence and that will be a huge asset to her teammates."
