Boise State Gymnastics Program Adds Neil Resnick to Coaching Staff.
BOISE, Idaho Boise State gymnastics head coach Sam Sandmire announced the hiring of Neil Resnick to the position of assistant coach. Resnick, a long-time gymnastics club owner and coach from Reno, Nevada, will join the Broncos immediately.

Resnick was the owner, director and head coach at Flips USA Gymnastics Academy in Reno from 1984 through 2006. He served as the club’s head coach before buying it from 1982 through 1984. At Flips, he coached numerous national and international competitors. 27 of his junior gymnasts received scholarships to various NCAA institutions. His program at Flips tallied more than 20 consecutive Nevada State Open Division championship titles.

He has been an active member in the USAG (United State Association of Gymnastics), serving as a member of the national coaching staff, including a period on the full-time USAG coaching staff from 2003 through 2005. He has served as a participating gymnast coach or as a USA team coach at several international competitions, including the Pan American Games in Argentina in 1995 and the World Championships in Japan in 1996.

He served as a member of the coaching staff for Junior Olympic training camps (1996 through 2006) and was the Region 1 Junior Olympic National Committee Chairman (1997 through 2005).

Resnick has served as a clinician and keynote speaker at numerous USAG workshops and has served as a consultant for a variety of gymnastics teams.

Resnick was a member of the Cal State-Northridge men’s gymnastics team from 1976 through 1980 and was a NCAA Division II All-American. Before moving to Reno, Resnick served as the head coach at Le Club Gymnastics in Northridge (1978-82) and was a volunteer coach with the Cal State-Northridge gymnastics program (1980).

He has mentored many coaches and gymnasts by example and through the countless clinics he has conducted over the years.” Sandmire said, “Additionally, his contacts with top coaches and gymnasts across the country will help Boise State right away in recruiting.”

Resnick will begin his duties immediately.
