Gymnasts Head to Regional Championships

BOISE, Idaho Boise State University is sending three gymnasts to compete in the NCAA West Regional Championships, April 14, at Berkeley, Calif.

Senior Kristin Aldrich and freshmen Yvette Leizorek and DeAvera Todd will represent the Broncos at the regional championships. The regional meet, hosted by the University of California, will be held at 6:00 p.m., at the Haas Pavilion. Leizorek will be competing on bars in the second rotation with California, and is an alternate on floor. Aldrich, also rotating with California, will compete on beam in the third rotation. Competing as an all-arounder, Todd will rotate with the University of Washington and begin on beam.

The top two teams and the top two all-around competitors not on an advancing team from each regional site will receive an automatic berth to the national championships in Salt Lake City, Utah, April 26-28, hosted by the University of Utah.

In addition, the event winners at the regional championships will advance to the national championships in that event if they are not part of a qualifying team or the all-around qualifiers.

Two top 10 teams in the University of Nebraska (No. 6) and the University of Utah (No. 7) will compete at the regional site. Also competing as teams are the University of Missouri (No. 18), Washington (No. 31), Sacramento State (No. 35), and California (No. 37). All ranking are according to GymInfo.

Joining the Broncos in the field will be individual competitors from San Jose State University, Seattle Pacific University, UC Davis, and CSU-Fullerton.
