March 28, 2018

BOISE, Idaho – Junior Shani Remme was named a National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches/Women (NACGC/W) Second Team All-America selection in the all-around competition for the regular season, it was announced late Tuesday.

This is the first All-America selection for the junior as she becomes the 10th Bronco gymnast to earn All-America honors and the 14th All-America award in program history. Remme is just the second Bronco gymnast to earn All-America honors in the all-around competition.

Remme earned the honor with an RQS of 39.47 in the all-around. The Loomis Calif., native has competed in the all-around competition in all 11 meets this season, winning seven of those, good for third-best in school history.

Remme joins current teammate Sandra Collantes as the only current Bronco gymnasts having earned All-America accolades. Collantes earned second team honors on floor exercise in 2016.

Remme adds All-America to a growing list of honors for 2018 that include MRGC Gymnast of the Year and MRGC Floor, Bars and Beam Specialist of the Year.

Remme and the Broncos will be back in action next week as they travel to Ohio State as a three-seed in the Columbus NCAA Regional on Saturday, April 7 at 4 p.m. MT.
