2015 NCAA Gymnastics Regional Bracket

BOISE, Idaho-
The Boise State gymnastics team was selected as the third seed to the 2015 NCAA Gymnastics Berkeley Regional, Monday afternoon. Fifth-seeded California will host the regional at Haas Pavilion, Saturday, April 4 at 6 p.m. PT.

The Broncos with an RQS of 196.495, will face No. 1 seed and Pac-12 champion Utah (197.670) and No. 2 seed Georgia (196.875). Host California grabbed the fourth seed, along with MRGC opponents Utah State (No. 5 seed) and BYU (No. 6 seed). In the GymInfo weekly rankings, Utah lands third in the nation, Georgia is 10th, Boise State 15th, California 20th, Utah State 29th and BYU 35th.

The 2015 regional selection marks the eighth for Boise State under current co-head coaches Neil Resnick and Tina Bird, qualifying each of the years they have led the program. The highest the Broncos have ever placed at a regional meet was third, doing so during the 2009, 2011 and 2012 seasons. The 2011 season was their closest attempt at earning a top-two spot and advancing to the NCAA National meet, missing the second-place finish by only .025 of a point. In 2014, Boise State competed at the Seattle Regional hosted by the University of Washington, finishing fifth with a team total of 195.275. Then juniors Kelsey Morris (uneven bars) and Ciera Perkins (floor exercise) qualified to Nationals. Perkins went on to earn Second Team All-America honors on floor.

Other schools hosting regional meets include: Iowa State (Ames Regional), Auburn (Auburn Regional), Ohio State (Columbus Regional), West Virginia (Morgantown Regional) and Oklahoma (Norman Regional). All regionals will be on Saturday, April 4 with start times of either 4 or 6 p.m. local time.

The top two teams and top two all-around competitors (who are not on an advancing team) from each regional will receive and automatic berth to the national meet in Fort Worth, Texas April 17-19, hosted by Texas Woman's and the Knight Eady Sports Group. The top two teams from the Norman, Auburn and Ames regionals will compete in one semifinal, while the top two teams from the Morgantown, Columbus and Berkeley regionals will compete in the other semifinal.

In addition, the event winners at each regional will advance to the national championships (in that event only) if they are not a part of a qualifying team or an all-around qualifier.

The annual Super Six, to determine the NCAA champion, will be held April 18.
