Broncos Head to WAC Championship Meet

What's Happening:
The No. 13-ranked Boise State gymnastics team heads to San Jose, Calif., to participate in their ninth Western Athletic Conference Championship meet. The meet, hosted by San Jose State, will be held on Sat., March 19 at 7 p.m. (Mountain) at The Event Center. The Broncos will look to reclaim the title after Southern Utah earned the championship meet title in 2010. Boise State earned back-to-back championship titles in 2008 and 2009.

Reserved tickets are: $10 per adult, while youth 12 and under are $7. 
General admission prices are: $8 for an adult and $5 for youth 12 and under.  Students from participating institutions with a valid student ID can purchase discounted general admission tickets for $5. 

Fans can purchase tickets by calling the Spartan Ticket Office at (408) 924-SJTX (7589) or 1-877-SJSU-TIX (757-8849), visiting the ticket office in person, calling Ticketmaster at 1-800-745-3000, visiting select Ticketmaster outlets including the Event Center Box Office or online at .

Group tickets are available for the championships, but are only sold through the Spartan Athletics Ticket Office.  Groups of 25 or more can purchase reserved seats for $7 each and general admission tickets for $5 each.  Group discounts are only available through 5 p.m. on Friday, March 11.

Fan parking is available in the parking garage located at 7th Street and San Salvador. Fan
parking cost $5.00 and parking machines for paryment are on site.

Boise State Weekly Rankings:
Boise State enters the week ranked No. 13 with a 195.950 regional qualifying score (RQS). They rank as high as No. 10 on vault (49.175), No. 12 on bars (49.110), tied for No. 15 on beam (48.820) and No. 16 on floor (49.060).

All-Time Series:
Boise State is 5-0 against WAC opponents this season. They also have winning all-time series records over Cal State Fullerton (31-18), Sacramento State (16-7), San Jose State (27-5), and Southern Utah (24-19). Utah State is the only school who holds a winning record over Boise State all-time with a 54-25 record over the Broncos. As of recent, however, Boise State has had the upper hand with a 12-meeting win streak.

#13 Boise State "Broncos":
Boise State remains at the No. 13 spot in the national rankings this week. They hold a 12-3 record (5-0 WAC) and have a team season-best of 197.050 and an average of 195.950. Their season-high score was earned just this past weekend and tied the all-time school record score.

Seven Broncos sit in the nation's top-100 ranked gymnasts in their respective events. Amy Glass ranks No. 10 in the all-around (39.370), No. 37 (tied) on vault (9.860), No. 45 (tied) on bars (9.840), No. 11 (tied) on beam (9.870) and No. 20 (tied) on floor (9.870).

Hannah Redmon ranks in three events, sitting as high as No. 7 on floor (9.886), tied for No. 24 on vault (9.875), as well as tied for No. 15 on bars (9.880). Hailey Gaspar ranks in two events, sitting at a tie for No. 10 on vault (9.895) and tied for No. 94 on floor (9.815).

Brittany Potvin-Green holds two rankings as well, sitting at a tie for No. 92 (9.815) on vault and tied for No. 87 on bars (9.805). Lindsay Kazandjian is tied for the No. 92 spot on bars (9.80), while Kelsey Lang and Bekah Gher are is tied for No. 64 (9.805) and No. 96 (9.775) on beam, respectively.

Cal State Fullerton "Titans":
Cal State Fullerton enters the weekend with a 0-7 record and are 0-5 in WAC match-ups. They do not have any national team rankings. The Titans earned their highest team score of this season just last week, scoring a 191.050 in a dual against UCLA.

No Titans rank individually among the nation's top-100 in any event.

#34 San Jose State "Spartans":
San Jose State plays host to this weekend's championship meet. They enter the week ranked No. 34 in the country with a 194.505 RQS. They also rank No. 34 on vault (48.70), are tied for No. 34 on bars (48.675), rank No. 38 on beam (48.355) and sit at No. 31 on floor (48.895). The Spartans' best score of the season came on Feb. 11 in a quad meet against Boise State, UC Davis and Seattle Pacific, scoring a 195.550. They hold a 12-5 record and 4-1 WAC record on the season.

Four Spartans hold top-100 spots in this week's individual rankings. Thomasina Wallace leads the way sitting in the top-100 in four events. She ranks as high as No. 25 (tied) in the all-around (39.145), while also tying for No. 33 on bars (9.855), tied for No. 38 on floor (9.855) and tie for No. 96 on vault (9.805). Katie Valleau also ranks on floor, sitting in a tie for No. 50 (9.845), while Lily Swann is tied for No. 56 in the all-around (38.910).

#53 Sacramento State "Hornets":
Sacramento State enters the week ranked No. 53 with a 191.870 RQS. They also rank No. 49 on vault (48.240), No. 48 on floor (48.535), No. 53 on beam (47.625) and No. 76 on bars (47.725). They hold a 6-7 record on the season as well as a 2-3 WAC record.

Two Hornets sit amongst the nation's top-100 ranked gymnasts with Amanda Blauvelt sitting at No. 86 in the all-around with an RQS of 38.185. Kailey Hansen also ranks for the team, sitting in a tie for No. 76 on floor (9.825).

#33 Southern Utah "Thunderbirds":
Southern Utah enters the week with a No. 33 ranking and a 194.580 RQS. They rank No. 38 on vault (48.615) as a team, as well as No. 39 (tied) on bars (48.565), No. 22 on beam (48.680) and No. 19 on floor (49.015). They hold a 9-6 record on the season, including a 3-2 WAC record. Their highest score of the season came early on when they earned a 195.750 to defeat Sacramento State on Jan. 21.

The Thunderbirds have four team members ranked in the nation's top-100 individual rankings. Ari Lamb holds two spots, sitting at No. 49 in the all-around (38.970) and tied for No. 26 on beam (9.850). Lindsey Schultz and Shannon Coughlin are tied for No. 57 on floor (9.840) while Brooke Cersosimo is tied for No. 70 (38.705) in the all-around.

#46 Utah State "Aggies":
Utah State enters the week ranked No. 46 in the nation with a 192.935 RQS. They also rank No. 45 on vault (48.400), No. 41 on bars (48.545), No. 51 on beam (47.820) and No. 44 on floor (48.610). They hold a 2-14 record on the season, including a 1-4 WAC record. Their highest score of the season came two weeks ago when they scored a 194.550 to defeat Cal State Fullerton.

Two Aggies sit amongst the nation's top-100 ranked individual gymnasts in their respective events. Nicole Simoneau is tied for No. 50 in the uneven bars (9.835), while Jackie Dillon is tied at No. 72 in the all-around standings (38.620).
