Broncos Host No. 1 Florida

For the first time in school history the Boise State University gymnastics team will host the nation’s top-ranked team, as the University of Florida comes to town for a dual meet Sunday.

The Broncos and Gators are slated to square off at 2:00 p.m. at the Taco Bell Arena.

Tickets Sunday will be “Dollar Night” at the dual meet. Admission to the event will be $1 for the general public, and student admission is free with student ID.

Bronco Vision The dual meet can be viewed live on Bronco Vision for a single-meet price of $4.95. One month subscriptions to Bronco Vision can also be purchased for $9.95. A yearly subscription to the service is $69.95.

Last Time Out...
Although freshman DeAvera Todd posted a third place finish in the all-around, March 2, at a quadrangular meet at the Taco Bell Arena, the Boise State University gymnastics team finished in third place with a score of 192.350.

With the team score the Broncos were able to knock off Seattle Pacific University (192.050), but they fell to No. 11 Oregon State University (196.475) and UC Davis (192.775) to drop to 6-9 this season.

With an all-around score of 38.800, Todd finished third among the 10 individuals competing in all four events. Todd was also the only Bronco to finish in the top three in any event, tying for third on bars with a career-high 9.850.

The Gators...
The No. 1 University of Florida gymnastics team (12-0-1, 5-0-1 SEC) used the sixth-highest score in school history to post a 197.45-194.075 win over No. 22 NC State (10-10), March 2. A total of 12 season-best marks were set or tied by the Gators at the dual meet.
 
Redshirt freshman Melanie Sinclair scored a perfect 10.0 on bars for the second time this season, becoming the first Gator gymnast in school history to score two perfect marks on the event. Sinclair scored her first 10.0 Feb. 16, at home against Kentucky.

The History...
Since 1990, Boise State has competed against the Gators only once. The Broncos hosted Florida, Feb. 11, 2000, and were nudged by a score of 195.850-195.575.
